Indianapolis - Drinking, Dining, and Dessert

Must-Try Restaurants in Indianapolis The Indianapolis food scene offers a variety of delicious restaurants to try, so of course we didn't try them all in our recent trip. But we sure did our best to try as many as we could. Here are some that we truly enjoyed, both in downtown Indy and in Zionsville, that I highly recommend.   Burger Study Another hit restaurant by restaurateurs Steve and Craig Huse. The same team behind the famous St. Elmo Steakhouse and fine dining establishment Harry and Izzy's, does phenomenal burgers in an atmosphere themed as a college library. Located in downtown Indianapolis at the Circle Centre Mall, this is a must-try burger joint. Wanting great quality food in a more casual environment than a fancy steakhouse? This is the place for you. Shapiro's Delicatessen Located in downtown Indy, near Lucas Oil Stadium - Home of the Colts - Shapiro's Deli is serving up delicious Reuben and pastrami sandwiches, fresh bagels, and much more. We dined...

Phoenix and Scottsdale

Visiting Phoenix Metropolitan Area After visiting Las Vegas , Zion National Park , Grand Canyon and more, our vacation was coming to an end. But we had one final destination before heading home — Phoenix. Traveling from Grand Canyon to Phoenix After leaving the Grand Canyon, we enjoyed a refreshing stop in Flagstaff for some delicious brews at Mother Road Brewing Company , located downtown, just off historic route 66. They don't have a kitchen, but they partner with a couple local places that will deliver to you at the brewery. We shared a pork bahn mi sandwich from Proper Meats + Provisions , which was delightful and paired well with our beers. We decided to take the scenic route from here through Sedona to enjoy the beautiful landscape. I wish we could have had more time here to observe the scenery because it was breathtaking. Alas, we only were passing through, but I would love to visit for the gorgeous red rock formations. Exploring Phoenix and Scot...

Grand Canyon National Park

Winter Travel to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon In our journey this winter, we ventured from Las Vegas and Hoover Dam to Zion National Park and Horseshoe Bend . But our exploration wouldn't be complete without visiting Grand Canyon National Park . The Grand Canyon is more than just a big hole - it is a wonder to behold. I encourage everyone to make the trip to the Grand Canyon to truly observe its magnitude in awe. Traveling to the Grand Canyon There are multiple ways to get to the Grand Canyon, but if you are coming from Page, Arizona and Horseshoe Bend, the majority of your trip will be through Navajo nation. I would highly encourage you to make any necessary pit stops before getting on the road, because there are not an abundance of places to stop along the way. Although, lacking in places to stop, this road does offer some amazing scenery, foreshadowing more to come. A good place to get out and stretch the legs along this journey is at Cameron, before turn...

Mon Ami Gabi

Las Vegas has loads of restaurants and cuisines to choose from - making the task of picking what to eat somewhat overwhelming. Every famous chef you've heard of has a restaurant or two in Vegas. Aside from that, there are numerous award winning restaurants with outstanding chefs at the helm. We were very happy to take suggestions on where to eat - one of which brought us to our favorite dining experience while visiting. Mon Ami Gabi , part of the Paris Hotel, sits in the front of the hotel on Las Vegas Blvd, looking across at the Bellagio Fountains. They have a lovely cafe with indoor and patio seating that is perfect for breakfast or brunch. Aside from the lovely ambiance, the food was delightful. It was difficult to decide because everything sounded so good, but our waitress offered some suggestions. Rachael chose the bananas foster waffle, complete with a caramelized banana sauce and served with real whipped cream that was divine. With her order she had a side of thick ...
